Gunslinger, EP and Album news

Urakbarameel and J.D Tait are currently touring the land with Alan Davey’s Gunslinger.
This is a heavy as shit - early Motorhead meets a brick wall Metal band. The Gunslinger album, “Earthquake in E minor” is out now.
See http://www.myspace.com/alandaveygunslinger for details.

The split CD with Thus Defiled has been delayed until August 2008. The Meads have a new track ‘On the Surface’, plus some arse ripping covers of Brit punk acts: Hellbastard, Doom, Skeptix, Conflict, plus a rushing cover of the Kinks' “You Really got me”.
Thus Defiled add their own blackened covers of more Metalised acts. This will be the first ever English Black Metal split release, a common underground package over seas.

Metatron is locked in his own thoughts putting together the lyrical concept to the band's fourth album, The Death and Passion of Ieosus. The music for the release is currently in a million pieces and the band will piece them together this year. There will be a few guests on this release, all playing a character of the tragic tale of the Galilean healer who was made God by the crumbling Roman Empire; his own identity and middle Eastern all but erased from the pages of History. The album will rip apart the New Testament gibberish and reveal the Man behind the myth, his humanity and ultimate end at the hands of a foreign oppressor. The album will see the light of day in 2009.

Paul Fox RIP

It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Ruts guitarist, Paul Fox.
We shared a moment of inspiration at London's Mill Hill Studio, in 2005, when Paul laid down the guitar for our version of the Ruts classic, Babylon's Burning. As fate would have it the recent release of the track on a limited 7" vinyl makes this news even more profound.
We sincerely hope he has gone to a better place, and thank him for allowing one of our past idols to share a moment of great musical endeavour with us and to inject a real spark into our music.
The EP is dedicated to Paul, may he rest in peace.

Top Row: Huw Lloyd Langton, Lee Cornell, Metatron, "Poo"
Bottow Row: Paul Fox, Urakbarameel, J Tait

Long serving Hawkwind/ Meads releases his new solo album

Long serving Hawkwind/ Meads bassist releases his new solo album, 'Human On The Outside' as you read this.

This is a brand new studio release that builds on combinations of hard rock and atmospheric ambiance. It takes the listener on a journey that transcends time and space.

"Human on the Outside" is also a timely reminder of Alan's ability as a multi-talented instrumentalist and features not only his highly regarded bass playing (he describes it as "playing like a rhythm or lead guitar") but also his synth and six-string guitar work.

The album also includes a vocal contribution (on 'Glass Wolves') by his Meads of Asphodel colleague Metatron. "It's eclectic" notes Alan. "This album is way ahead of anything I've done before. There are deep, atmospheric, sounds and some really unusual rock numbers. It's still clearly me - but it sounds like nothing I've ever done before, it has a real filmic quality to it. I'm always stretching myself as a musician and trying to do something totally different, really experimenting with sounds. This one is really on the button."
